Last night, January 21, Nora’s Playhouse held a successful developmental reading at New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) as part of NYTW’s Usual Suspects Studio.

Kyoko Hayashi, a survivor of the A-bomb on Nagasaki at age 14, tells of her pilgrimage more than fifty years later to the Trinity site in New Mexico, test site of the first atomic bomb, and of her life as a hibakusha.

We will be developing the piece further for a public reading in May as part of the Hibakusa Stories Initiative.

We have decided to form a committee to get the ball rolling for the educational outreach aspect of our mission. The first committee meeting for the Educational Outreach committee will be in January 2010.
