Molly’s son is a talented actor who is preparing for an audition to a prestigious drama school. He is also a recovering addict. Can he beat his addiction and get into drama school at the same time? And can Molly’s relationships survive his anger?
Open Call Auditions for Nora’s Playhouse world-premiere production of Ashes & Ink by Martha Pichey will take place Wednesday, June 29 at 6:30pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 113 Madison Avenue, Montgomery, Alabama. Callbacks will be the evening of Thursday, June 30. We encourage actors of ALL ethnicities to audition!

About the Project:Ashes & Ink is a stirring story about grief, addiction, and a mother’s love. This is a paid, non-Equity production. There is adult subject matter and profanity in the script.
Roles to be Cast:
QUINN: 20, Molly’s son, passionate and charismatic, insecure LEO: A widower, late 40s, attentive and thoughtful, honest FELIX: Leo’s son, 7, spirited and curious, watchful BREE: Molly’s sister, 40, level-headed and driven, blind since age of 7
*The role of MOLLY (a widow in her 40s) has already been cast
What to Bring with you to the Audition: A prepared monologue is not necessary. Auditions will be cold readings of sides from Ashes & Ink, as well as group scene work with the director, Caroline Reddick Lawson (Artistic Director of Nora’s Playhouse). Please bring a headshot. (If you don’t have a headshot, we will accept a photo cropped to clearly show your face, or we will take a snapshot of you at the audition.)
Rehearsal/Performance Schedules and Locations: Rehearsals will be scheduled on nights and weekends, August 17 – September 21, in the Cloverdale area (exact location TBD). Performances will be September 22 – October 2 at The Sanctuary (432 Goldthwaite St., Montgomery, AL).
Rate: $600 flat
