The Nora Salon: The Quiet Voice is April 7th!

The April gathering of our monthly reading series, The Nora Salon, is Friday, April 7.

We hope you’ll join us for a glass of wine, friendly conversation, and
an informal reading of Elizabeth Curtis’ one-act play: The Quiet Voice.

Twenty-one year old Vera Brittain’s diary for August 1914 reflects an “incongruous mixture of war and tennis.” With England’s entry into World War I, Vera is propelled from a life of bourgeois leisure into becoming one of the 20th Century’s prominent pacifist and feminist voices. The Quiet Voice,  adapted from Letters from a Lost Generation, a collection of wartime letters written by a young Vera, spans the years 1914 to 1918, taking us through the horrific and life-changing events that war brings.
